Project management
I specialise in project management related to all aspects of local and multi-country B2B communications. Since 2003 my project work has included the direction and management of a number of multi country research studies for Reader's Digest and the 2007 world conference for Gifted & Talented Children in conjunction with the University of Warwick and the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
I offer highly developed organisational, analytical and communication skills supported by more than 20 years experience gained from working in senior business development roles within global advertising agencies and publishers. I quickly understand what's needed and "get things done".
Research
The strategic use of market research can help open doors, support sales and raise awareness of your company. I offer a full project management service specialising in co-ordination with suppliers, data analysis and report writing. I'll identifying sales and communications opportunities, collate material and prepare copy for all internal and external communications. I'm happy working with your in-house team and/or external suppliers.
Current projects include Reader's Digest European Trusted Brands, annual multi country research study aimed at understanding and tracking consumer brand preferences plus the Europe Health Survey. Both studies have dedicated websites and have generated 00s of valuable leads for the advertising sales teams in each country.
Export Marketing
For 11 years I was responsible for business development within the global advertising sales team at Reader's Digest. During this time I worked closely with large organisations such as Shell and The European Central Bank (on the launch of the euro). As an independent project manager I now offer my skills and experience to companies wishing to identify and develop sales and communications outside the UK
Since launching my own business projects have included analysis of the world magazine export market for The Periodical Publishers Association and organisation of the 2007 world conference for Gifted & Talented Children, commissioned by the University of Warwick and the Department for Children, Schools and Families. Using a mix of strategically targeted communications tools and "ambassadors" around the world we successfully attracted 1,000 paying delegates from 50 countries for the 5 day conference and exhibition.
Events
By employing me as an independent project manager for any internal or external event that you may be considering, your regular staff will be free to focus on what they do best. I'll introduce specialist suppliers and/or work with your internal teams as and when appropriate. I will manage the entire project from initial idea to delivery, within budget and on time.
Working with staff at the University of Warwick and the Department for Children, Schools and Families I successfully attracted 1,000 delegates from 50 countries to the 2007 World Conference for Gifted and Talented Children. Project management included briefing and overseeing the creation of a database, dedicated website plus on-line registration and payment system. The event was supported with a 3 day "business to business" exhibition (25 paid stands) and full social programme catering for all nationalities, languages and cultures.
